Which dome is actually bigger?

Why did Hagia Sophia's dome fail, and what did that teach Sinan?
The original dome partially collapsed twice during the Byzantine centuries, because a 31-metre span pierced at its base pushes outward harder than sixth-century buttressing could hold.
